HayTime Digital – Precision for feeding

Release hay or open gates at exactly the right minute. HayTime Digital was developed to make horse feeding effortless and precise.

How HayTime Digital works

The timer releases the gate or other device connected to it at exactly the set time, accurate to the minute. The timer has three different modes:

Mode 1: Timer releases after a set duration: Choose how many hours and minutes should pass before the timer releases.

Mode 2: Timer releases at a set time of day: Set a specific time of day when the timer releases automatically every day. Up to four daily opening times can be set.

Mode 3: Timer releases on a set date and time: You can schedule the release for a specific date and time. Up to two date-and-time-based opening times can be set.

Functions and features

Simple to use: All settings and selections are made with a single, easy-to-use rotary button. A clear display shows all the information you need at a glance.

Very long battery life: A rechargeable battery ensures reliable operation without constant charging. Depending on use and weather, the device lasts around 12–24 months on a single charge. For the best battery life, we recommend charging the battery before winter. The device is charged with a standard USB-C cable.

Finnish quality and warranty: Designed and manufactured in Finland, with a 12-month warranty.

Serviceability: All parts of the timer are available separately as spare parts, with clear replacement instructions.

Is HayTime Digital resistant to frost and humidity?

Yes.All our equipment has been tested for Nordic conditions. We recommend charging the timer battery before the winter season.

What is the difference between HayTime Digital and HayTime Mechanical timers?

HayTime Mechanical is a mechanical timer that is reliable and affordable with a basic 12-hour maximum. The HayTime Digital is a digital timer that offers accurate timing to the minute and a longer maximum time. If your intention is to time hay for different horses with more than one timer, we recommend the digital timer.

Does HayTime Digital need mains power or external batteries?

No need. HayTime Digital runs on a built-in battery and does not require mains power. The device’s battery is charged via the USB-C connector and lasts around 12-24 months, depending on usage and weather conditions. It only takes a few hours to fully charge the battery.

Do I need to set daily release times on the HayTime Digital timer?

No need. You can switch the digital timer to Repeat-mode, so that the device automatically repeats the set release times.

For example, if you set the timer to open daily (Mode 2) at 13.00 and 01.00 and switch on repeat mode, the timer will be released at these times every day. All you have to do is turn the handle on top of the timer to the locked position and set the opening system in place.

How much load can the timer withstand?

The maximum load of the digital timer is 3 kg. Please note, however, that the timer requires a small pull (load) to operate in order to release the mechanism at the set time. For example, if you try the device on a table without a pull, it will not open automatically.

What happens if, for example, a horse rushes through a timed gate?

The timer is designed with safety in mind: if it is pulled too hard and too suddenly, the mechanism is built to open automatically before major damage can occur.

Please note, however, that this automatic release does not fully guarantee that the timer cannot be damaged in such a situation. However, if something does break, all parts of the timer are available separately as spare parts.
